PSALM 2

The Anointed One

Read Psalm 2 and pray over it. Today I’m praying over Psalm 7. I encourage you to pray alone with God.

1 Why do the nations rage
    and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
    and the rulers take counsel together,
    against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
“Let us burst their bonds apart
                                    and cast away their cords from us.

Father, I thank you for everything you’ve provided us. Our home, car, clothing, and food. My husband and I have realized that as we read the book of Job, all our blessings can be taken away from us. You allowed temptations in our lives, testing our faith so that we grow and are strengthened through it, sanctifying us in everything we experience.

We perceived the nations were raging against the Anointed One and his saints, a spiritual war. Lord, there will never be an end to evil, and we’re powerless against those who set themselves against your Anointed one. When we hear of peace, it’s not a sense of true peace. When we call for freedom, it’s not true freedom but a desire to do whatever we want.

Revive the hearts of men and women. Keep our churches open so that we may fellowship together. Our true freedom comes from the Anointed one, who died on the Cross for us and was resurrected on the third day.

Lord, forgive our little faith. Jesus said, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20-21. We doubt that we are capable of such an answer through our prayer and leave the impossible to the Almighty God.

He who sits in the heavens laughs;
    the Lord holds them in derision.
Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
    and terrify them in his fury, saying,
“As for me, I have set my King
    on Zion, my holy hill.”

Lord, you’re seeing everything. You cared for our souls and claimed at the Cross, “It’s finished!” (John 19:30) Consuming the full wrath of God through his sacrifice, you’re now sitting gloriously at the right hand of the Father. You’re laughing over your enemies. (Psalm 37:13) Those plotting evil cruelty are disobedient and believe themselves to be untouchable. You’re laughing at them because you’ve already conquered and triumphed over your enemies. (Colossians 2:15)

Lord, we’re afraid of the uncertainty of losing our employment for our children’s future and fearful of what might happen in this world. Pour the Holy Spirit on us so we may be strengthened through our prayers. Your gentle rebuke to me, saying, “Do not fear little one. I see everything that goes on the earth, and the wicket will be punished. I have conquered all of it. It will last just a little time.” ( 1 Corinthians 15:20-28)

The truth cannot be hidden and is revealed. The more it’s suppressed, the more the truth is exposed. I thank you, Lord, for all the women and men of our nation who are willing to stand firm and speak out for the truth.

I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
    today I have begotten you.
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
    and the ends of the earth your possession.
You shall break[b] them with a rod of iron
    and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”

O Lord, the most powerful and mighty God. The true God is not a myth. Our perfect prophet, appointed Son of God, has authority above all men and angels. You have got the power to heal and renew us.

You’ve prepared a perfect banquet for us, and there will be no weeping, cruelty, or sickness. What a day to look forward to.

10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
    be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
    and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son,
    lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
    for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Lord, you’ve warned the kings and the rulers of the earth to follow in your steps, living a godly life as men and women of the faith. Your grace is at work and cannot be relented.

It’s laughable to think my Psalm book was printed in China, where people are forbidden to read it. Sadly, we give excuses not to read or study your word. O Lord, forgive us.

I pray for those who cannot have a bible. Maybe all they’ve is a verse or page, and they’re holding into your promises with a thirst for your word while we’re afraid of losing our wealth. Help us become like those brothers and sisters in the Lord and hold your promises, not of perishable things of this world.

Lord, do not be angry with us. As I read the prophets, you’ve brought judgment upon your own people for disobedience. You said it would come to pass, and it was so. The weed and seed are growing together and will be gathered for the harvest. The weeds will be destroyed, and the seeds will be kept. Help us persevere and not lose hope when judgements come upon our lands.

Lord, we will continue to love and trust, seek a relationship with Jesus Christ, and strengthen our faith.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Note Here: I rephrased this prayer into a readable text for clarity. The prayer is simple, not eloquent and close enough to the original. In my prayer, the ‘male’ format of the bible is used, but in my mind, I pray for ‘man/woman. It takes me a few days to edit the transcript, so be patient with .me
