PSALM 120-121

Vernon, BC 2018

Adjusting my time alone with God has varied from time to time with new priorities in life. In 2020 because I started to work as early as 5:30am, I read a Bible passage and wrote my prayers in a journal. Later that day, I studied one book of the Bible I chose for that year. It’s never a fixed goal but a journey of trials and how your faith stays strong in Christ.

The Lord is Your Keeper

This prayer is dated March 26, 2020.

O Lord, how wonderful are the depth of the riches of your wisdom and knowledge. You searched my heart for faithfulness, and you found none. I am weak in my mind, heart, and soul. Only through the Son of God, by his death on the cross, can I present myself to you holy, blameless, and above reproach.

You’re my God who loves me first. You redeemed your servant, so I may live and glorify you in all things, even during difficult times. Give me the strength to endure whatever culture throws at us.

I pray and thank you for your answered prayer. You’re the best. I pray that you protect our family from deception and immoral lust. To love my neighbour (Gospel). Redeem our youngest son so that he might glorify you instead of loving his own foolishness (Redemption). Be with my older son, and allow him to forgive his uncle (Forgiveness). Be with my relatives as they set a time for their visit (safety and opportunity).

In His Word

I read Psalm 9-10 and memorized Titus 3:14-15 this week. It’s slow progress, but I’m getting there. I aim to recite the entire letter of Titus before the end of April. My niche now is sitting on a fallen tree in the woods behind my house. If you’re wondering why I’m sharing older prayer, it’s for my time alone with God. Another reason is that it takes time to transcribe an audio prayer into a readable one.

What have you read so far in the Bible that inspires you to be nearer to Him? How are you faring in your prayers alone with God? Every day is a new day. Start now!
