ADORATION (v.1-6)
Prayer dated May 24, 2022. Read Hebrews 5. Pray over it, then read my devotion.
For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. 2 He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. 3 Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people. 4 And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was. So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”; 6 as he says also in another place, "You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.”
O Father, in heaven, you’ve appointed the Son of Man to be our high priest, to intercede for us. Christ didn’t exalt himself, but you did. You appointed Jesus to act on our behalf concerning God. Jesus was beset with the same weakness as us but never sinned. He is the perfect lamb. Oh, how my mouth should continually praise the Lord.
CONFESSION (v.7-14)
7 In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. 8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. 9 And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, 10 being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.11 About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
Oh, Father, forgive us for our own weaknesses and strengthen us. Do not let us become dull of hearing your word or complacent in our walk with you, but be “ready for every good work.” Titus 3:8. Teaches us how to mature with discernment “by constant practice to distinguish good and evil.” ( v.14). Oh my soul, do not be weary, for the Lord knows my weakness, struggles, and my strength. He walks with me daily, even if I do not feel it. Jesus is my protector in all my trials.
27 Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God”? 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; 31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; shall walk and not faint Isaiah 40: 27-31
THANKSGIVING
Oh, Wonderful Savior, you’re the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. You give power to the faint and increase our strength. You make us wait upon the Lord, and you shall renew our strength. In trusting in you, we shall grow stronger in faith.

“Let us not be surprised when we have to face difficulties. When the wind blows hard on a tree, the roots stretch and grow the stronger, Let it be so with us. Let us not be weaklings, yielding to every wind that blows, but strong in spirit to resist.” ~ Amy Carmichael
SUPPLICATION
I prayed for the young families that you be with them. Keep them focused on your grace and your word. Keep them faithful to one another. Give them direction and wisdom on how to raise their children. Heal their troubled mind and broken heart so that they may glorify and praise you more.
Let’s Go Pray!
