ADORATION (v. 1-3)
Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2 a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man. 3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer
“Sing Him a new song, play skillfully with the string, with a loud voice.” (Palms 34:3). O Sweet Jesus, you are seated at the right hand of the throne of God, the majesty of heaven. You are our perfect minister in the holy places. I shall praise your majestic name above all other names.
Where does your security lie? Is God your refuge, your hiding place, your stronghold, your shepherd, your counselor, your friend, your redeemer, your saviour, your guide? If He is, you don’t need to search any further for security. ~ Elizabeth Elliot
CONFESSION (v.5-7)
4 Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law. 5 They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.” 6 But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second.
Only through you, Jesus, as my perfect high priest, can I confess all my sins without fear, for I’m forgiven. You have obtained a much more excellent ministry than the old because it rests on your promises of hope of salvation for humankind. I come daily and expose myself as vulnerable, and you are gentle and loving toward your servant. You brought me closer to you during the most challenging times, not that I could do it alone. YOu carry me in your arms like a broken child that needs a Father. When I’m glad and rejoiced, I share my joy with others and praise your name for the Holy Spirit guiding my heart and mind to respond to your word. For that, I’m grateful.
THANKSGIVING (v.8-13)
8 For he finds fault with them when he says: "Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 9 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord.10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.11 And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”13 In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
You promised to return as King and bring justice to our lands, and your coming will redeem all nations. Those who have rejected you will be punished. You’ve made a covenant of peace and grace with your people if they obey you. “You will put your laws into our minds and write them on our hearts, and you will be our God.”
O Sweet Jesus, “You will be merciful toward our iniquities, and will remember our sins no more.” v.12. Let all your people rejoice and be glad, knowing how great our Savoir’s glory is.
SUPPLICATION
Father, I pray for those who struggle to understand your will. Clarify it through their prayers. Guide their life to be one with a purpose so they may find peace and rest in You. Let our hearts and mind not be deceived by the culture pushing their agenda at us in constant degradation of the human race. Let us stand firm in our faith.
If you are busy with vacationing and people visiting you, still take the time to be with the Lord.
Now let’s go pray!
