We hiked a small part of the Cape Chignecto Coastal trail (22.9km) and climbed for two hours to the 5km marker before returning. The return was much easier and faster as it was mostly going down. The view at the top of the cliff was terrific; with all the foliage of the trees gone, you could see the open ocean for miles. God provided us with a safe return home, and we praised Him for it.
Like the seasons that come and go, we draw nearer to God in our prayer than we lack at other times. Sometimes it’s the same with our spiritual walk with Jesus Christ. We took a hard-level route instead of an easy one and struggled to keep up with those we considered ‘strong’ Christians. It’s a life of complicated trails, and we should blame ourselves for those decisions leading us into rugged terrain. Reflecting on our walk with Christ is the same; making a better choice for a godly life is profitable to us and others.
Now read Psalm 39 and pray over it!
ADORATION (v.1-3)
I said, “I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle, so long as the wicked are in my presence.” 2 I was mute and silent; I held my peace to no avail, and my distress grew worse. 3 My heart became hot within me. As I mused, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue:
Your kingdom will come, Almighty God, Creator of earth and heaven, and you’ll reign among us. You’ve triumphed over all your enemies. Your ways are righteous and holy!

CONFESSIONS (v. 4-6)
“O Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am! 5 Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! Selah 6 Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!
Guard my ways, my tongue and my mouth from profaning your holy name and forgive me if I’ve compromised my ways of living to please others and not you. My lifetime is but a mist before You, and I sought things that are not heavenly, like a spoiled child. You brought me back to your green pasture through steadfast love and protected me from the wolves who desired to destroy the sheep. I’m nothing if I’m not in Christ, but I gain an inheritance if grafted into Your grace and salvation. Forgive my sins as you know them all. There is no place to hide but in Your arms of mercy and forgiveness.
THANKSGIVING (v.7-11)
“And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you. 8 Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the scorn of the fool! 9 I am mute; I do not open my mouth, for it is you who have done it.10 Remove your stroke from me; I am spent by the hostility of your hand.11 When you discipline a man with rebukes for sin, you consume like a moth what is dear to him; surely all mankind is a mere breath! Selah
“And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.” My heart rejoiced this morning for answered prayer. An impossible love renewed between a husband and wife. You showed your servant how much Your steadfast love toward me is greater than the one I give back to You. It has no limit! A wife’s love in her old days brings more joy than all the flowers or jewelry a husband could offer. My husband’s love for me is more precious than gold. For this, I thank God. We both praised You in our thankful prayer, and you kept us growing old together.

SUPPLICATION (v.12-13)
“Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; hold not your peace at my tears! For I am a sojourner with you, a guest, like all my fathers. 13 Look away from me, that I may smile again, before I depart and am no more!”
I Pray for a broken spirit. A child of God who is in distress in body, soul, and mind. Let not this person say, “There is no God.” Because of the problematic trial of faith, she/he is going through. Give this person the strength to endure whatever hail him/she with the situation. I pray this person calls upon Jesus as their Savior for divine grace and love intervention.
Let’s Go Pray!
