Faithfulness of God
Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? 2 Much in every way. To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God. 3 What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? 4 By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written, “That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you are judged.”
O God, Your faithfulness will last forever, holding all Your saints in the safety of your beloved Son. No one will be forsaken or lost because we’re secured in Your faithfulness. A steadfast love in our souls that will never cease, even when we sinned against You.
God’s Righteousness
5 But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.) 6 By no means! For then, how could God judge the world?
You are a holy God of justice, and judgment will be required upon all of us for our actions. In Your righteousness, Your will judge them rightly and perfectly. No other gods or men on this earth have the authority of a holy person or god over our sins. The Son of God is the only one who has died for our iniquities and transgressions.
God’s Truth
7 But if through my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner? 8 And why not do evil that good may come?—as some people slanderously charge us with saying. Their condemnation is just.
Your words, commands, and statutes are all true. We were giving that testimony through Christ that we may be saved from the wrath of God.
No One is Righteous
9 What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, 10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together, they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.” “The venom of asps is under their lips.“Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
We learned our righteousness is limited, not holy like God, through Your word. Some go as far as to dishonour God’s righteousness by profaning Your name. They don’t understand. They don’t seek God. They turned aside, worthlessly and did evil, deceiving with their mouths. Cursing and are bitter with their mouths, shedding blood, and ruining their own paths. They will find no peace and only misery and fear of God in their minds. The law of God will judge and give accountability for their actions.
Faith in Jesus
O Jesus, by Your grace. We’ve been crucified with Christ. No longer I live, but Christ who lives in me. In my life in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved and gave himself for me. You’ve passed over my former fins.
I believed in You, my beloved Redeemer. My faith is a gift of God, and I will praise Your holy name for loving me more than I ever will toward You.
Have a blessed day, now let’s go pray too:)
