“The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens! Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high, who looks for down on the earth and the heavens?” ~Psalm 113:5-6

God of my salvation, Mighty warrior, You will strike the heads of Your enemies. You will bring them to their knees and cast them all into the fire pit. Their tongues are malicious, rebellious, boastful, and murderous.

But You, O God, foreseen it all and gave Your people hope and salvation. You ascribed power and majesty over Israel, Your chosen people, to set an example for all other nations of how we are to praise Your name. Teach me not to fear my oppressors, which are Your enemies.

“Bless be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation.” (v.79)

Forgive me for failing to resist the temptation of the flesh. Forgive me when I dwell on things that are worldly and not of spiritual means that could benefit my spiritual growth. Oh God, let my faith resume with discernment and abstinence that will please You.

Why am I struggling with such a sin? Why am I so reluctant to surrender that sinful habit at the feet of Jesus Christ? Is my temptation greater than the Power of God? No, certainly not! So why am I continually unfaithly to You, my Savior? Of my dear Friend, Redeemer, Savior of my soul. Forgive me!

Help me overcome those sinful desires that may be well with me. Save my youngest son. Turn him away from worldly affairs and bring his heart to one who believes in Jesus Christ. Protect my oldest son from the modern religious deception of Satanism. Give my daughter peace of mind while she struggles with personal afflictions.

Let our homes be blessed by Your love, hope, and mercy. Heal our hearts from the hurtful actions of others. Heal our bodies from sickness. Let Your Word be on our minds all day long and teach us how to raise our children to know who God is.

• I am thankful for the love my husband has for me, even after we have known each other for 39 years and have been married for 33 years. And yes, we got into the romantic stage, the rough and ugly part of our marriage, and the beautiful renewal and reconciliation. God is always at work:0
• I’m grateful for my imperfect family. It’s all mine, a blessing of God that I cherish daily.
