Answered Prayer

With spring in full swing, and the full month of May, we’re usually busy with new projects and putting away the winter equipment. By mid-May it’s time to transplant the seedling into the garden and also plant the seeds. It takes about two full weeks for us to do that. My husband doesn’t to much planting because of his lower back problem, but he’ll helped me anywhere else he can.

A New Puppy!

Added to this craziness of May, we got a puppy. Oh that cuteness and smarty-pants dog we got! We prayed for another dog after we put Merlin down on May 16, 2024. About three four weeks ago we checked on Kijiji and we find adorable mix-breed puppies. So we drove hour and an half to check on them. The cuteness of all the puppies was overwhelming at first and we didn’t know which one to choose, but my heart settled for this one with short hair and cutie face.

The pup is a quicker learner and we enjoyed his cuddliness. He was called Thank(Thanker) by the owners, and for a few days, we called him Pippin, as in the Lord of the Rings, but the name didn’t seemed to stick with us and the pup.

But one afternoon when I played a game with ‘Pippin’, a squirrel stuff from Dollarama attached to a cord which I dragged over the grass so he could chase it. After he caught it, the puppy let himself dragged, which reminded me of Merlin who did the same cute thing. My heart pinched at remembering Merlin because I just call the puppy, Buddy. Merlin had many nickname: Good boy, Muttmutt, Smarty-pants, and Buddy. So we decided to renamed him Buddy.

I had to bring this to Him and confessed I didn’t want to sin against Him because of my worries and grievance over an animal. Merlin was my companion during my ups and down and now he was gone forever. So yeah, it was difficult moment for both of us to let go of our companion.

Glorifying God in All things

You may asked, ‘Why on earth am I sharing this with you? After all this is praying over the Scripture blog. Well, sometimes God wants us to stop everything and reflect on the good, bad, and ugly of our life. God also afflicted us with moments which we thought we were fully prepared. We are never ready!

In life we will lose precious things or a loved animal and even a close friend, and it will affect us dearly. When we had to put Merlin down, we were unprepared and that cause us an emotional flipped in our life. Also just a few days before that my husband had an surgery. And my oldest son had a mental brake down and was administrated to the hospital. ‘ The saying, ‘When it rain, it poor’, it’s a bit true. I did questioned God about why everything was happening all at once. Seriously, it always does!

What God gives. God can also take away. That came to my mind when we lost Merlin but I’ve learned to trust God in many different circumstances and that was one of them. I brought my grievance to Him as a child of God, asking Him, to heal my heart from this separation and bring another dog into our life.

He did!

Praying

Last summer we didn’t bother to get another dog because of a planned trip to the west coast. Then right after that, we attended a wedding. And we also lost our little flock of chicken to two racoons. So by July we had no animals. It was pretty quiet and sad.

We started to pray for another dog April 2025. but before that, one of close neighbor was hoping to have puppies. But after waiting for months, it wasn’t happening, and decided to check on Kijij. We also checked the local rescue centers, but we wanted a specific mixed breed. The same day I checked on Kijiji that were a bunch of six weeks old puppies. Perfect replacement for Merlin!

Oh LORD, thank you for bringing this cuteness dog to our home. We hope, Buddy with be our joy and companion and protector around this property. Give us patience and strength to endure his pee and poop accidental mistakes till he grown out of it.

And I pray that I’ve time to study your word;)

Let’s Go Pray!
