Hebrews 3

ADORATION (v.1-5)

Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God's house. For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope

Jesus, you are counted worthy of all the glory that surpassed all man, angels, and Moses. Jesus, you’re faithful to God as a Son, and our prayers are presented holy to the Father through you. You hold fast our confidence, and we can now boast in our hope because you’ve shed your blood on the cross and atoned for our iniquities. We entered the throne of grace with humble hearts and hope. Jesus, continue being the high priest of our confessions. Forgive our sins of this day.

CONFESSION (v.7-11)

7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,“Today, if you hear his voice,do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years.10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.’ 11 As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter my rest.’

Let me not harden my heart at your voice, and let me not rebel against any of your teachings. On the contrary, teach me how to become courageous, patient, pure at heart, gain wisdom, and not fear evil and its plans.

The leaders of our country have provoked you to anger. They have become disobedient and detestable, calling your word a myth and rebelling against your holy word. Put you to the test, saying that, Our nation and leaders are dancing and celebrating their gain on the working families.

THANKSGIVING (v.12-15)

12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. 15 As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

O Father, guard my heart against the unbelievers who lead Christians away from the living God. Exhort us through your word so that we come to share our love for Christ. Oh, how sweet it will be when we hear your voice! May the Holy Spirit Wordw our minds and hold us to the original confidence in Christ up to the end.

SUPPLICATION (v.16-19)

16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? 17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.

O God, teach us not to be like the ones who are skeptical in their unbelief. Our faith of righteousness comes from You, and there is nothing I can do that is good or boast in ourselves about our faith. For it’s a gift of God that we can believe. Our lives mean nothing if we don’t live for Jesus Christ. Our purpose in life is vain if we don’t believe in the resurrection. For Jesus Christ fulfilled the promise of the perfect Redeemer, died, rose, and lived. f we believe in the resurrection, we know He will return as King of kings.

Hebrews 2

One of my joys in journaling my prayer is that I can go back at any time and see how I dealt with a particular struggle or how my prayer time is alone with God. Sadly, I cannot write anything in some seasons because I am so crushed by the trials.

I remember those trials but failed to write how I health with them. The wisdom and humbleness I gained by faith through the Holy Spirit during those periods cannot be experienced by others except by me. God sanctified me through those trials over time and has become beneficial to others besides myself. God provided those challenges in my mundane life so that I may glorify Him more.

ADORATION (v.1-4)

Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

How can I not praise my Savior for my salvation, “since the message declared by the angels proved reliable.” Angels have declared the birth of Jesus, the promise of our King and Savior. “God bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles by gifts of the Holy Spirit.” According to His will, he is pleased when we abide in Him.

CONFESSIONS (v.5-9)

For it was not to angels that God subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking. It has been testified somewhere,“What is man, that you are mindful of him,or the son of man, that you care for him? 7 You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor, 8 putting everything in subjection under his feet.”Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.9 But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

O God, we are lower than angels in power, but you predestined us to be saved by your grace. You’ve crowed Jesus with glory and honour, and all of us are in subjection under his feet. We can come to you anytime and repent and be forgiven of our sins.

THANKSGIVING (v. 10-14)

10 For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering. 11 For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, 12 saying, “I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.”13 And again,“I will put my trust in him.”And again,“Behold, I and the children God has given me.”
14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil

O wonderful Savior, thank you for bringing many of us to glory. You’re the perfected of our faith and are sanctifying us through the work of the Holy Spirit. And you’re not ashamed to call us brothers or sisters. You partook of something in the flesh and have the power of death, the devil. In you shall I put my trust.

I am so thankful that you’re our faithful high priest in the service of God to make propitiation for the sins of the people. In you alone, I stand firm in my faith.

Hebrews 1

Wild Lily of the Valley

Hello, my friend; I prayed a series of prayers over the Book of Hebrews last month. It was my first time doing so with this letter, and I encouraged you to follow my example and try it for yourself. That part of my bible is covered with notes and highlighted verses that were meaningful when I studied the letter fifteen years ago. Learning the letter gave me a greater understanding of the letter, but praying over the Hebrews renewed my love for Jesus Christ. In my heart, Jesus is the best of the best teacher in the world!

“Its purpose was to present the Lord Jesus Christ as perfect and superior in comparison to anything Judaism and the old covenant had to offer. The author was writing to a group of Christians who were under intense persecution and some were contemplating a return to Judaism. He admonished them not to turn away from their only hope of salvation.”~ Got a Question

Usually, before I study a letter from Paul, I read the outline, summary of the letter, and its purpose. There is excellent commentary online, and most Bibles have footnotes. When you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to guide your heart and mind to be focused on the work of Christ.

As I always encouraged you, pray over the scripture with me, then read my prayer. Let God be your heavenly Father; he has steadfast love for you. Let’s begin!

ADORATION (v.1-4)

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

What an excellent book to pray over! O Son of God, you’re the heir of all things. How wonderful it’s to know you’re a holy and perfect heir that will love and care for us. You’ve created the world by speaking it into existence. You’re powerful! You’ve acknowledged the will of the Father by your obedience by your ultimate sacrifice, and in your hands, you uphold the universe by the word of power. O Son of man, you’re the radiance of the glory of God.

O Sweet Saviour, you purified us through the sacrifice of your blood at the cross, and now you’re sitting at the right hand of the ‘majestic on high.’ You’re omniscient, all-powerful, all-knowing, all-seeing. You are much superior to angels. The perfect Savior!

SUPPLICATION (v.5-9)

For to which of the angels did God ever say,“You are my Son, today I have begotten you”? Or again, “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”? And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God's angels worship him.” Of the angels he says, “He makes his angels winds, and his ministers a flame of fire.” But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”

I pray for those who struggle with spiritual warfare. O Jesus, clear their conscience from those evil doubts, lies, deceptions, and weaknesses that we have believed and are a detriment to our walk with you. May the Son of God be our Father to us and not pray to the angels for help but to Jesus, who is much superior to angels.

Your throne lasts forever, and I confidently plead my case to you. You were appointed our holy, just, and perfect heir, and the saying should comfort us. You love righteousness and appointed us to live holy lives because you’re divine.

THANKSGIVING (v.10-13)

And, You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands; they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end.”And to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?

In you, I shall trust because the heavens declared the works of your hands. You reminded us that those who disobeyed were insubordinate or unbelieving will perish and wear out like old garments. You’ve triumphed over all your enemies, none shall stand, and all will bow their knees in respect to the King of kings. A holy and just God.

CONFESSION (v.14)

14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?

O Father, forgive our sins. In your, I will trust. To you, I shall pray. In you, I’ve hoped. Amen.
