Psalm 71

A Rock of Refuge

"And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and he said to me, "Say, thus says the Lord, so you thing, O house of Israel. For I know these things that come into your mind." ~Eze: 11:5

O Righteous God, Rescuer of my soul, be my refuge and fortress in time of personal trials. If You test my faith, let me remain steadfast and faithful to You. Let Your promises of hope, mercy, and redemption fill my heart that You are the only God who cares for humanity and my well-being. (James 1:12)

When my oppressor and accusers are mocking our ways of living for You and chastising us with violent and cruel laws to punish us, be not far away from us that comes to despair in life. Let us not doubt that You’ve forsaken us, but let us believe that You are actively watching the wicked and cruel man and will punish them.

Rescue us, O Lord, do not delay Your return! Our children are slaughtered or given away as slaves to cultural ideologies. It is so shameful that our churches have abandoned Your laws and precepts and have turned their back on You and the truth of the gospel.

Holy God

“Here is my duty; to be as Christ in the world, to be what He would do; to live as He would live, to walk in love and meekness; then would He be known, then would I have peace in death.” ~ Exerpt from the Valley of Vision

Forgive me, O Lord, when my love for You lacks faithfulness and trust. Forgive my stubbornness and pride. I know nothing! Teach me to be humble and preserve my faith. Make me more substantial that I may dwell longer in Your ways and Word. Your laws and precepts shall be on my lips day and night. Let my heart take courage, knowing you’ve forgiven my iniquities. (Psalm 31:23-24) Your continual love for me assured me of my place by Your side.

Psalm 75

In Your Promises, I rest peacefully

"Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable His ways!~ Romans 11:33

Your justice and righteousness will come to pass, for there are none like You who love justice for His people.

I will trust in Your world and all Your promises:

  • Your return as King of kings
  • Judging the wicked
  • Casting Satan in the lake of fire
  • To redeem those given to you by the Father
  • To guide my spiritual grow

All Your promises of Your word have encouraged me to want and live faithfully for You. My trust and obedience toward You have strengthened my faith. My humbling has taught me to only boast in Your word and not in my achievements. And I will declare Your name forever, and I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

Forgiveness

Forgive me when my heart pleads for a sooner deliverance from the oppressions and wants Your return to be immediate. When I cry like David, “How long, Oh Lord?” Forgive me when my heart isn’t steady; you’ve given me Your Word and Your truth for guidance. Our eternal reward and hope is in Your steadfast love. Forgive me when those who boast and the wicked scare me and make me doubt Your perfect timing for Your return.

Pray for Your Children

I pray You will rescue my youngest son from the clutch of agnosticism and cultural trends. Let my oldest son’s mind be cleared of fear and confusion and set him on a truthful path. Remove all the idealistic trends he has exposed to himself that are destructive to his soul, mind, and body. I pray for my daughter’s steady faith in your word. Crushed all doubts and let her rest joyfully in Your world.

Let’s Go Pray!

Psalm 70

Hello, my Praying friends. 🙂 My good intentions of praying over the two Psalms daily, six days a week, finally ended when I went away for a few days. For five weeks, I was faithful to my simple routine of reading one Psalm and journalled my prayer. Then, I did the same process with the second Psalm. Sometimes, I readjusted my need to slow down, but I never ceased being in God’s word.

As I transcribed a previous prayer from my journal ahead of time for my next post, it still bestowed a reflective mindset on God’s word. There are months between writing that prayer in my journal and the time I transcribed it for publishing. When I read through my personal prayer, I often changed and added more thoughts. The Spirit will teach us when our mindset is to please and glorify Him. Never stop reading His word, and if you’ve to change your habitual routine, do so, but keep reading and praying over the Scripture.

Let’s Go Pray!

“Great is our Lord, and abundand in power; His understanding is beyond measure” ~Psalm 147:5

O God of our soul, Deliverer of our life, the ONE who gives us freedom, peace and joy. Hear our plea for deliverance from those who oppressed Your people. Give Your people courage and strenght to endure this wild fallen culuture. It reminds us of the similarities of the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah. Everyone does what is rigth in their own eyes. They call evil, good. And good, evil. Let those who shamed us be “turned back and brougth to dishonor,” those who delight in hurting teh poor, needy and innoncents.

Haste, O God, to deliver us before all our fears failled in dispair. Protect our daughters, sons, and families from oppression of those who run this world like they were the right hand of a Phareon, a king with no regards for Your laws, precepts, and rules. Let our voices called upon You, O God, all the way to heaven with plea of devine delievrance. Let Your people repent from turning their back on You from many generations. Revive our hearts so that we have a zeal for Your Word. Have mercy on us.

“O Lord God, without the pardon of m sin I cannot rest sastified without the renovation of nature by grace I can never rest easy, without the hopes of heaven I cannot be at peace. All this I have in the Son Jesus, blesed be His name.” ~ Exerpt from Valley of Vision

Things I’m thankful

  • God delivers us from personal and international oppression.
  • I’m rejoicing and glad, knowing God will return.
  • He has won and conquered this world
  • He saved two of my children

What I learned about God

  • His divine justice never failed
  • He will deliver us at his own perfect time
  • He’s our helper
  • He’s our Saviour
  • Swift deliverance will come—not a few minutes, an hour, or a day later, but right on time according to His will.
  • We can come with our supplication to God with confidence
  • We find joy and gladness in worshipping Him

What have you learned or been grateful for when you read Psalm 70?

All is well with my soul. Praise God always.

Psalm 69

Bittersweet Nightshade

Teach Me

"You are of this world; I am (Jesus) not of this world. You are from below; I am from above." ~John 8:23

Almighty God of heaven, let us always praise Your name. Draw my spirit closer to You that I may be complete, perfect, and lacing in nothing. Let our enemy’s foolishness be exposed, and give us the strength and discernment to endure the oppressions they have set upon Your people.

Your steadfast love, grace, and power made us believe that You will return to us as the King of kings. There are no other gods I would want to praise or worship but You, my King and Savior.

“The more I love You with a truly gracious love the more I desire to love You. And the more miserable I am at my want of love; the more I hunger and thrist after You. The more I faint and fail in finding You. The more my heart is BROKEN for sin. The more I pray it may be for more broken.” ~ Exerpt from Valley of Vision

Let not my heart go to waste, O God, teach me to be faithful to You. Let Your faithfullness toward us to be a perfect example of love. Forgive my wondering of thoughts that are set on things of this world, instead of thought set on things above. Let my desires be for you even more then before and let Your patience toward Your servant be like a loving Father.

Protect and restore my oldest son to the truth and discenment of Your Word. Crushed this enemy that had inflitrated into his home (modern religion & gnosticism). Save him from the deceptions of this mystery religion that is rampant in our churches and homes. Protect his heart, mind, and soul from the destruction of those lies.

This prayer was written on January 19/24.

  • Since this was written, our worries for my son did come to pass. He was hospitalized in April 2024 for a mental breakdown. For many years, he dealt with hurtful relationships, mainly with Christians who were emotionally and spiritually abusive toward him. Eventually, he couldn’t work or function and dive into this combination of modern religion that encouraged basing your life on feelings and not on the truth of God.
  • In one year, my husband and I saw him slip away from God’s truth to a somewhat mixed religion that encourages you to base your belief on “feelings.” We saw a fast decline in how all his wording was changed from those agnosticism terminologies. This led him further into mental and spiritual confusion to the point where he couldn’t work. He became depressed and started chanting and rebuking in the name of Father, Son, and Spirit, which did nothing really except make him feel happy in the moment. I won’t go into all the other things he believed, but I was terrified for him as I was once into spiritualism. Nothing excellent and healthy comes out of that.
  • He has recovered fast from the hospitalization and is back to work full-time. He admitted that he did that to himself. He is still not letting go of this agnostic and modern religion. But thanks to God for saving him and protecting him. Sometimes, we must let go of our adult children and let God do His work. My son is 34 years old.
  • Again, yesterday, he was hospitalized (July 21/24). It was a cry for help. Unfortunately, we are cost-to-cost apart.

Pray for your adult children.

Psalm 67

Wild Rose

“God, you dwell in the high and holy place, and with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to receive the spirit of the lowly and the heart of the contrite.” ~Isaiha 57:15b

Gracious and Wonderful Provider, let Your love, mercies, and blessings fall upon Your people. Let Your face shine again so our joy and hope may be strengthened. Your saving power called those who have lived in sins to be brought into Your marvellous kingdom.

O God, let Your people praise You, and the nations be glad and sing for joy. Come and judge the people! We await our king, our Righteous and glorious King. Our country and the world are plotting evil all day long. I shall not be afraid, for you’re with me.

Forgive Your servant for doubting this world will not be rescued with Your final return. O Jesus, there is so much evil everywhere and in everything. It left no hope for us, our children, and our grandchildren. Will this evil ever be punished and fade away as written in Your promises? Give us strength, discernment, courage, and faith, and be firm in Your word to endure all things. Forgive me for doubting your Sovereignty.

“May I always lay hold upon this Mediator as I realize the object of faith? And alone worthy by His love to bridge the gulf. Let me know that He is dear to me by His word. I am one with Him by the world of His part and by faith in mine. If I oppose the Word, I oppose my Lord when He is most near. If I receive the Word, I receive my Lord, wherein He is night. So shall Christ the Word and His Word be my strength and comfort” ~ Valley of Vision

What I learn about God

  • He is transcendent
  • Gracious
  • Provider
  • God’s universal love, mercy, and salvation
  • Divine blessings
  • Promotes his righteousness
  • He is sovereign

Things I’m thankful

To foster my gratitude for God’s blessing, grace, and love for me and my household. Never take anything for granted.

After reading Psalm 67, what verses had the most meaning to you? Have you yet learned how to pray simply over God’s Word?

Psalm 66

Yarrow

In Your Righteousness, I Rest and Trust

"Oh God, Your thoughts and your ways are higher than our ways; you've declared Your Righteousness to this world through Your deeds and Your Son, Jesus Christ."~ Jeremiah 55:4

O Jesus, you came to raise me up! You were born of the flesh like me, so I might become like you. Your love draws me nearer to Your grace. In Your power, you’ve united us in Christ and taught us how to live a godly life. Without Your wisdom and good deeds, I would be lost and live as the wicked do. O God incarnate, you save me, a dying woman! Your sacrifice satisfied the punishment of God’s wrath on my behalf.

In Your Fortress, I seek Refuge.

Watch over me, My God, so I may be a good servant, seeking and waiting patiently for Your return. My God, my Redeemer, my Friend, how long will you return to us? Show Your servant Your steadfast love and give me the strength to endure the difficult race ahead of me a bit longer.

Confess to Him who Forgives

Forgive me, O God, when my impatience set in by wanting justice sooner than Your will require it. Forgive my wanting earthly desires that lead me to sin against You. Keep my eyes off worldly sins and deception through television programs. Let my spirit grow from reading Your word and gain wisdom and discernment.

Journaling & Praising God

This is a note on my progress on the summer reading I started five weeks ago. I’ve enjoyed its simplicity and pace while the summer is booming with warmer days, travel plans, yard work, and family visits. It’s perfect!

“Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed His steadfasts love from me.” ~Psalm 66:20

Psalm 65

Adoration

"O God, let him or her who baost in this, that we understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in teh earth." ~Jeremiah 9:24

Oh God, Sovereign and Righteous One, let Your justice come upon the wicked soon, for my heart fails to cling to any hope of Your promises. See the raging warfare that is destroying countries led by wicked leaders. Satisfying their own thirst for bloody evil death upon humanity. Oh God, rescue us from the wicked, hear our plea for Your justice.

Confession

How, Oh Lord, can I suffer and rejoice simultaneously when I read Your Word? Let me seek my joy and hope for better things in You than fear what I cannot control. Forgive me, Jesus, when I worry about the news of awful wars hurting people of all nations and races. Remind me of Your sovereignty and Righteousness over all things; Your will and plan for salvation for all people is at work.

Request

O Lord, I pray for my children. Protect them from the wicked who scheme against Your saints. Renew their spirit so that they grow and adore You above all other things. Give them strength in areas of their lives where they are weak. Teach the truth, expose the lies they are exposed to, and let Your steadfast love fill their hearts with a desire to do Your will.

Keep our family, marriage, and neighbours in good health. Save our children! Their mind and body are driven by wicked, destructive ideologies. Oh God, a plea for Your soon return! Come back to us, Oh Lord.

Thank you for allowing me to study Your Word and work on this blog. I hope to encourage others to pray for their loved ones and neighbours. I pray for my husband that his surgery appointment will be sooner than later. Keep our relationship pure and strong, and communicate patiently, lovingly, and understandingly.

Psalm 64

Adoration

"O God, hear my voice in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy." (v.1)

Oh God, let the pleasure of Your Word be a delight to my soul. Increase my desire to seek You more by understanding Your Word, reading it daily, praying over it, and searching for Your attributes. Let my mind be set upon what the Spirit teaches me so that I may be “Perfect, complete, and lacking nothing.” (James 1:4)

Confession

May my religion be alwlayws firmly rooted in Your Word, my understanding divinely informed, my affections holy and heavenly, my motives simple and pure, and my heart never wrong with You. Deliver me from the natural darkeness of my own mind, from the corruptions of my heart, from the temptations to which I am exposed, from daily snare that attend me.” Exerpt from Valley of Vision

Request

Oh Lord, let the righteous rejoice and take refuge in You. Protect us from evil spirits, the snares of liars and deceivers, and those who have no fear of God as they shoot their bitter-hateful words at your saints like arrows of death. Hide us in Your assurance of divine justice and strengthen our faith that we may not be cast down with fear, depression, and uncertainty. Your arrows will wound the wicked and bring them all to shame.

Oh Jesus, forgive me if I doubted Your powerful and complete justice. It will come in Your timing. Help me to trust in Your judgment. Thank you for your unwavering love and protection when you vindicated us from false accusations. I’m grateful that You hear our plea for protection, renewal of our hearts, and redemption of our children.

May God bless your reading of the Scripture and your time with Him.

Psalm 63

Shediac, NB

Adoration

God, firstborn of all Creation, Invisible and Powerful, let Your glorious steadfast love satisfy our souls.

“Lord of all being, there is one thing that deserves my greatest care, that acalls forth my ardend desires, that is, taht I may answer the great end for which I am made to glorify You who has given me being, and to do all the good I can for my fellow men.” Exerpt from Valley of Vision

Oh God, my soul will only be satisfied when I earnestly seek You and thirst to know You more profoundly. My heart faints when there is no desire for Jesus on our lands and in our churches. I searched Your Word for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of Your truth so that I may live a godly life pleasing to You. Gave me a zeal to encourage others in their walk with Jesus. Let my lips praise Your name continually.

Confession

“O may i never fall into the tempers and vanities, the sensuality and folly of the present world. It is a place of inexpressible sorrow, a vast empty nothingness.” ~Exerpt from Valley of Vision

Forgive me, Oh Lord, when all my thoughts aren’t a meditation on You, or when I doubt the power of Your sword over Your enemies. Forgive me when I doubted you don’t care four ous sons and daughters’s souls. For I know You don’t take pleasure in lost souls. Let Your steadfast and glory shine upon me. that my joy in You is renewed.

Request

Forgive me for doubting Your will for my oldest son. Bring him to repentance and heal him from his spiritual and physical illnesses. Protect him from the deceptions of evil he has embraced. Put Your protective wings of mercy around him. Thank you for protecting my youngest son from his own foolishness. Bring our sons to us, O Lord, for we missed them dearly. Never let me cessed to pray for our children. I’ll trust in Your will always, even if the trials are harder than I can endure it. Help me to endure whatever is ahead of us as parents.

“Hopefully by now all of us have realized we do have some “respectable sins, perhaps attitude and actions we’ve never regarded as sin or realized their seriousness. If you have been humbled to some degree and your heart made more tender, then you are in a good position to continue on, because the sins we look at from here on will probably be more “ugly” than the ones we’ve exmanine so far.” ~ Exerpt from Respectable Sins by Jerry Bridges.

Let your summer be a joyful one and keep reading His word. Summer is NOT a time to take a break from God, but to continue praying, reading His Word and seeking spritual growth in place it’s lacking.

Merlin, 2023 Nova scotia
Our life without our companion Merlin, the dog of nine years old, which we had to put down due to a massing cancer in his colon, bring us tears here in there as we both remember his energic, playful, free spirit, and companionship. Till the end, his devotion to us was incredible.
For those who love animal and lost a dear companion, they are not replacable, but we most praise God, that he brought this joy into our life. We will get another puppy in the Fall. Meantime, I'm praying He will bring us another great companion. He knows what best for us:)

Psalm 62

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, always read the Psalm before reading my prayer. Be inspired by His Word so that you may profit from it.

This is how I prayed over a Psalm. First, I read the entire Psalm, colour-coded any attributes of God and colour a verse that is significant to me in that passage. Second, I used BibleHub to understand the overall context of the Psalm. Then, I read an attribute of God, which I selected and marked in another Bible. Sometimes, I wrote those in my journal. Last, I read one Puritan’s prayer from the Valley Vision. Lastly, I write my thoughts on prayer in my journal. With a concise prayer, my mind will return to what I’ve read or learned about amazing Divinity for the rest of the day. On occasion, I used the ACTS to guide my praying steps. What is important to me is that God hears my prayers.

Adoration

“Creator and Redeemer God, author of all existence, source of all blessedness, I adore You for making me capable of knowing You, for giving me reason and conscience, for leading me to desire You. I praise You for the revelation of Yourself in the gospel, for You thought of peace towards me, for Your patience and Your graciousness, for the vasteness of Your mercy.” ~exerpt from Valley of Vision

Confession

Oh Lord, for in You alone, my soul waits in silence. My salvation, hope, and peace come from You. Forgive me when doubts steal my joy and I forget to take refuge and trust in You. I’m pouring my heart before You that I may seek and set my mind on heavenly things. In my weaknesses, let me come at the Cross, surrending myself entirely to You. Renew my hope of living for You when I become ashamed and thrust into an evil attack of this world upon my spirit; guide me through Your wisdom so that I do not lack the truth of Your Word. That all my pleasures are from things that are beneficial to my spirit. Let my mouth not profane Your name and forget I’m a child of God.

Request

Oh Lord, let Your servant’s sons be redeemed and returned to a new life. Give us the strength to endure their foolishness and rebellion against You for our sake as parents. Let not my tears of joy in You become tears of sorrow. In Your promises, I have held the hope of their salvation and return to us in their sound minds.

How long, Oh Lord, will sons and daughters be given into the slaughter of this fallen world? Judgement is upon us! Help us to bear it in grace, faith, and love.

Things I’m Thankful

  • In my lowliness, I can trust in God’s power as a refuge and strength
  • To be able to depend on God for peace
  • To be able to express a profound faith in Him

“Before we get into the subject, however, I want to acknowledge that ther is a place for legitimate discontentment. All of us should, to some degree, be discontent with our spiritual growth. If we are not, we will strop growing. There is also what we might call a prophetic discontentmen with injustice and other evils in society that is coupled with a desire to see positive change. The subject of this chapter is a sinful discontentment that negatively affects our relationship with God. Actually, the most frequent warnings in Scripture aginst discontentment concern money and possessions, but in this chapter, I want to address what is perhaps a more common form of discontentment among committed Christians, an attitude that may be triggered by unchanging circumstances that are trials to our faith.” ~ Exerpt from Respectable Sins by Jerry Bridges
