Prayer dated May 16/22

ADORATION (v.12-15)
When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. Do your best to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way; see that they lack nothing. And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful. All who are with me send greetings to you. Greet those who love us in the faith.Grace be with you all
O Father, how glorious your kingdom will be, and I cannot wait for your return, my King. You’re all powerful, all seeing, all present. All your people are waiting and hoping for our eternal life with you. You’re our blessed hope, and nothing or anyone can snatch us away from you.
“What we asked is for God’s glory. We are not seeking a gift that may glorify us, bringing honour to human prowess or to human wisdom. We see that which will put crowns upon the head of our gracious God, and we seek it with the one pure desire that He may be glorified. Above all, we ask that which is dear to the heart of Christ. Jesus is the friend of sinners- for sinners He lived, He died, He rose, He pleads, and He reigns in glory.” ~Charles Spurgeon
CONFESSION
Holy Spirit, guide my every step so that I may not sin against God, for in you alone is my salvation. I’m thankful that I can pray to Jesus, who I consider my friend and with confidence, I laid all my prayers at his feet. Forgive me when I’ve doubted your ways, have no desire to be alone in prayer with you or have no interest in reading your word. O Father, forgive my unfaithfulness and do not be harsh with your servant. Pour your grace upon me like the anointed oil on a prophet’s head, and be kind to me as I have much to learn.
“This hard place in which you perhaps find yourself is the very place in which God is giving you opportunity to look only to Him, to spend time in prayer, and to learn long-suffering, gentleness, meekness – in short, to learn the depths of the love that Christ Himself has poured out on all of us.” ~ Elisabeth Elliot
THANKSGIVING
O Father, thank you for the churches who have kept accurate to your word, kept faithful, and taught sound doctrines to us in a profitable matter. Thank you for our health, friends, neighbours, car, property, and garden, and for the strength to accomplish our daily tasks. Without your blessings, we own nothing and are nothing.
“Sometimes life is so hard you can only do the next thing. Whatever that is just do the next thing. God will meet you there.” ~ Elisabeth Elliot
So, my friend, I hope you’re learning to pray to our beloved Jesus Christ through the scriptures. My prayer will be a springboard to your daily prayer with Him, for He is worthy and loving. There are no perfect sinners, so go ahead and pray your heart content to Him, ask forgiveness for strength, healing, and courage, but do so in a way that will glorify Him and not satisfy your selfish ambitions.
“My soul, bow down under a sense of your natural sinfulness and worship God. Admire the grace that saved you-the mercy that spares you-the love that pardons you!”~Charles Spurgeon
